OPNS 450 Final Project on RAF Philippines

This is a sample of our final project in my masters class OPNS 450: Analytical Decision Modeling with Professor Ozge Islegen. RAF Philippines, a freight forwarding and logistics company in Manila, asked us to determine whether or not they were fully optimizing their couriers. We did this by validating their current KPI of deliveries and pickups (doors) per courier per day. We began first with a demand forecast model utilizing monthly averages and the seasonal index to find a rough estimate for the demand of next year. We created an excel model that would give us the highest profitability, taking into consideration constraints of budget, time, and demand. Sensitivity analysis was also conducted to see what would happen if we tightened or widened these constraints. Running this model lead us to the necessary decision variables that would help us answer the key problem of the client, and suggestions depending on courier performance.
